Each month, Peake ReLeaf & Mary and Main will be holding a virtual expungement clinic in partnership with The Maryland Medical Dispensary Association, Minorities for Medical Marijuana, The Cannabis Patient Advocacy Association and Shulman Rogers.
An expungement is the removal of court and police records from public inspection. This Expungement event is designed to provide assistance and education to those with cannabis convictions to clear their criminal records. After you sign up for an appointment you will be sent a Zoom invitation as well as follow-up information from the participating law firm.
We believe that events like this are crucial to reducing the harm and malicious impact the ‘War on Drugs’ has had on communities of color. And while we also believe that record sealing and expungement should be automatic, it is paramount that we are intentional about providing tangible assistance for persons in transition from the justice system.
