At Mary & Main, Juneteenth has always been more than a date on the calendar.

It is a celebration of freedom, culture, resilience, joy, and community. It is a reminder of how far we have come, how much we carry, and how much power lives in gathering together with intention.

This June, we are honoring that spirit with Black Joy, Black Pride — a month-long campaign rooted in celebration, cannabis justice, local impact, and community connection.

Because around here, we believe Juneteenth deserves more than one day. It deserves space. It deserves joy. It deserves action. It deserves the whole month.

Supporting the Last Prisoner Project

As a Black-owned dispensary, we know that celebrating cannabis culture also means acknowledging the history that came before legalization.

For generations, Black and brown communities were disproportionately harmed by cannabis criminalization. Today, while the legal cannabis industry continues to grow, too many people are still living with the consequences of outdated cannabis laws.

That is why, throughout the month of June, Mary & Main is supporting the Last Prisoner Project, an organization dedicated to cannabis criminal justice reform.

As part of our June campaign, customers will have the opportunity to participate in a roundup campaign at checkout. Every contribution helps support the ongoing work to free, support, and advocate for people impacted by cannabis-related convictions.

This campaign is not about centering harm. It is about honoring the people and communities who have carried the weight of that history while helping build a more just, more joyful future.

From Justice to Joy

When people talk about Black communities and cannabis, the conversation too often starts and stops with incarceration.

That history matters. We will never ignore it. But our story is bigger than harm.

It is also about reintegration. Ownership. Healing. Entrepreneurship. Creativity. Culture. Family. Celebration. Possibility.

This June, we are holding all of that at once.

Through our campaign, we are creating space to support cannabis justice while also celebrating the fullness of Black life and culture. That means spotlighting Black-owned canna-brands, uplifting local small businesses, creating joyful gathering spaces, and encouraging our community to stay connected to the policies and decisions that shape the future of cannabis.

Why This Matters

Mary & Main is proud to be rooted in Prince George’s County and proud to serve a community that knows how to show up for one another.

This campaign is not just about one event or one promotion. It is about using our platform to create connections. It is about making room for celebration and action. It is about honoring Black culture in a way that feels full, fresh, and true to us.

When you shop with us this June, attend an event, support a vendor, donate through the roundup campaign, or share the campaign with a friend, you are helping build something bigger than a moment.
